Faith without works is dead

“To all, remember what you’re experiencing is significant because it pertains to your life. So, Father, I lift every circumstance to You right now. Lord, I pray that You will continue to guide, lead, and bless us in all our endeavors, no matter where we are. Help us to rely on You and to call upon You in all our difficulties, in Jesus’ mighty name, amen.

Jeremiah 9:23-24 says, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom, nor the mighty man boast of his might, nor the rich man boast of his riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness on the earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.’

This gives me a real sense of assurance, knowing that the Lord is in control and is the judge of all judges. Delving into this scripture, I understand that worldly status means little. True worth comes from knowing the Lord, which requires humility. For those in recovery, we know that humility is key; without it, we face humiliation.

The Lord, in this passage, implies that knowing Him is the only basis for human glory. Our possessions, money, relationships—these cannot fulfill us. Reflecting on my journey, especially with addiction, I’ve learned that trying to fill the ‘hole in the soul’ with anything but the Lord is futile. Some might doubt, but for me, the Lord has been the only one to truly fill that void.”
