On January 1st, as we step into a new year, Ephesians 6 reminds us to “put on the full armour of God” to stand firm against life’s challenges. This passage calls us to equip ourselves spiritually with truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, and the word of God—the tools to withstand trials and temptations. Life can often feel like a battlefield, and without the right armour, we are vulnerable to doubt, fear, and negativity.

The belt of truth grounds us in honesty and integrity. The breastplate of righteousness protects our hearts and souls, guiding us to live according to God’s will. The shield of faith extinguishes the arrows of doubt, while the helmet of salvation keeps our minds secure in the knowledge of His promises. Lastly, the sword of the Spirit, the word of God, is our offensive weapon to defeat darkness.

Start the year fortified in faith, prepared to walk boldly in His light.
